Caitlin M. Towell

Caitlin M. Towell is a 20-year-old soprano entering her third year of the Lyric Theatre Program at the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign, studying voice with Dawn Harris and Sarah Wigley and coaching with Michael Tilley in preparation for a career in opera and musical theatre. She has seen success in the NATS Student Auditions, Alexander and Buono International Vocal Competition, the International Viennese Spring Music Competition, and the Charleston Music and Great Composer Competition series. She was a finalist in the Musicians Club of Women Vocal Competition and a semifinalist in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition and Music International Grand Prix. In Fall 2022, Caitlin looks forward to playing Mrs. Anderssen in Lyric Theatre @ Illinois’s production of A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim. Favorite stage roles include Babette in Beauty and the Beast, Meg March in Little Women, Phoebe D’Ysquith in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Sandra Bloom in Big Fish, and Cosette in Les Misérables. Caitlin has served as the Music Director on a variety of children’s shows through Goshen Theatre Project. All the starts and stops from covid have strengthened her resolve to fulfill her dreams of performing on stages around the world. Caitlin is simply grateful for opportunities that continue to challenge and inspire her on this musical adventure.
